Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 15/May/2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) governs all purchases, bookings, subscriptions, digital products, and freelance transactions conducted through Unjob.ai (“Unjob”, “Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By using the Platform, all users, including clients, hiring parties, freelancers, creators, and buyers (“Users”), agree to this Policy.

1. Nature of Platform

Unjob is a technology marketplace platform that facilitates connections between clients and independent freelancers/service providers.

Freelancers listed on the Platform are independent third parties and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Unjob unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Unjob facilitates payments, project workflows, communication tools, and dispute handling mechanisms but does not guarantee:

  • project outcomes,
  • freelancer availability,
  • business results,
  • delivery timelines,
  • or suitability of services for specific purposes.

2. Types of Transactions

2.1 Subscriptions

Recurring monthly or annual payments made by users to access premium features, hiring tools, growth plans, or additional Platform functionality.

2.2 Service Bookings

Predefined services listed and managed by Unjob at fixed pricing. Freelancers may be assigned by Unjob based on availability, rankings, expertise, performance history, and operational requirements.

2.3 Custom Service Bookings

Custom services independently listed by freelancers on their profiles. Clients may directly purchase these services through the Platform.

2.4 Digital Products

Downloadable or digitally accessible products sold by freelancers through the Platform.

2.5 Custom Freelance Jobs

Projects or job postings created by hiring parties where freelancers may apply and get selected for project execution.

3. Payment Terms

3.1 All service bookings, custom services, freelance jobs, and applicable transactions require 100% advance payment to initiate the project unless otherwise specified.

3.2 Payments are processed through authorized payment partners integrated with the Platform.

3.3 Freelancers become eligible for withdrawal only after:

  • project approval by the client, or
  • manual approval by Unjob administration in case of disputes, inactivity, or non-response.

3.4 Unjob may deduct:

  • platform fees,
  • commissions,
  • taxes,
  • payment gateway charges,
  • penalties,
  • dispute adjustments, before releasing payouts.

4. Subscription Refund Policy

4.1 All subscription payments, including monthly and annual plans, are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.

4.2 Users may cancel renewal at any time; however, no partial or prorated refunds shall be issued for unused subscription periods.

5. Service Booking Cancellation & Refunds

5.1 Before Project Commencement

A project shall be considered “commenced” once:

  • the freelancer accepts the order,
  • work delivery begins,
  • initial concepts/files are shared,
  • or substantial communication/work activity has started.

Before commencement, either party may request cancellation for valid operational reasons including but not limited to:

Client-side reasons

  • Freelancer requested payment outside the Platform
  • Unprofessional conduct
  • Non-responsiveness
  • Freelancer unable to meet timeline
  • Scope mismatch
  • Mutual cancellation agreement

Freelancer-side reasons

  • Requested work outside agreed scope
  • Inappropriate client behavior
  • Unrealistic timelines
  • Skill mismatch
  • Client requested off-platform payment
  • Personal emergency or unavailability

In such cases:

  • Unjob may assign a replacement freelancer, or
  • issue a full refund to the client at its sole discretion.

5.2 After Project Commencement

Once a project has commenced, cancellations are no longer automatic.

Either party may raise a dispute/support request for review by Unjob.

Refund outcomes shall be determined by Unjob after reviewing:

  • platform chats,
  • submitted files,
  • timestamps,
  • scope documents,
  • revision requests,
  • delivery evidence,
  • and overall project activity.

Possible outcomes include:

  • replacement freelancer assignment,
  • partial refund,
  • platform credits,
  • or rejection of refund request.

5.3 Refund Eligibility Rules

A. Work Not Started

If no meaningful work has been initiated, the client may receive a full refund.

B. Client Cancellation After Work Starts

If the client cancels after work has materially commenced, refunds may be limited to up to 50% of the order value depending on completed work and effort invested.

C. Scope Mismatch

If delivered work materially deviates from the originally agreed requirements documented on the Platform, partial or full refunds may be issued after review.

D. Delayed Delivery

Refund eligibility for delays shall be evaluated as follows:

  1. If the freelancer submitted deliverables within the agreed timeline and client review caused delay:
    • No refund applicable.
  2. If the freelancer failed to provide an initial meaningful submission within the agreed timeline without reasonable justification:
    • partial or full refund may be issued depending on project status and work completed.
  3. If revisions requested by the client extended timelines:
    • refunds may be reduced or denied.
  4. If both parties mutually agreed to revised timelines through Platform communication:
    • no refund shall apply solely due to delay.

6. Custom Service Bookings

All refund, cancellation, delay, dispute, and project commencement rules applicable to Service Bookings shall also apply to Custom Service Bookings.

Unjob may additionally deduct non-refundable platform commissions and transaction fees before processing refunds.

7. Custom Freelance Jobs

Refunds and disputes relating to freelance job postings shall follow the same principles applicable to Custom Service Bookings.

Where milestone-based arrangements exist, refunds shall only apply to incomplete or undelivered portions of the project.

8. Digital Product Refunds

8.1 Due to the nature of digital goods, all digital product purchases are final and non-refundable once:

  • the product is downloaded,
  • accessed,
  • delivered,
  • or made available to the buyer.

8.2 Refunds for digital products may only be issued in cases of:

  • duplicate payment,
  • corrupted/inaccessible files,
  • or proven fraudulent transactions.

9. Off-Platform Transactions

9.1 Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • requesting off-platform payments,
  • bypassing Platform commissions,
  • or soliciting direct transactions outside Unjob.

9.2 Unjob shall not be responsible for:

  • losses,
  • fraud,
  • disputes,
  • chargebacks,
  • or damages arising from off-platform transactions.

9.3 Any attempt to bypass the Platform may result in:

  • account suspension,
  • permanent bans,
  • payout holds,
  • ranking reduction,
  • legal action,
  • or forfeiture of earnings.

10. Evidence & Communication

11. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

11.1 Users initiating fraudulent chargebacks or payment reversals may face:

  • immediate account suspension,
  • recovery proceedings,
  • permanent restrictions,
  • or legal action.

11.2 Unjob reserves the right to recover associated costs, penalties, and chargeback fees from users involved in disputed transactions.

12. Project Completion & Dispute Window

12.1 A project shall be considered fully completed once:

  • the client marks the project as approved/completed on the Platform, or
  • the project is automatically marked completed as per Platform workflow.

12.2 Once a project has been completed and approved, no refunds shall be processed under normal circumstances.

12.3 In the event of any dispute relating to completed work, the client must raise a formal dispute/support ticket within 2 working days from the date of project completion.

12.4 After the expiry of the 2 working day dispute window:

  • the transaction shall be deemed final,
  • payouts may be permanently released to the freelancer,
  • and Unjob shall have no obligation to investigate, mediate, recover funds, or provide dispute resolution support.

12.5 Unjob reserves the right to reject disputes raised after the permitted dispute window, except where required under applicable law or in cases involving fraud, legal violations, or payment-related investigations.

13. Refund Processing Timeline

Approved refunds are generally processed within 7–14 business days depending on:

  • payment method,
  • banking partner,
  • payment gateway,
  • and regulatory processing timelines.

Unjob does not control delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unjob shall not be liable for:

  • indirect losses,
  • business interruption,
  • loss of profits,
  • freelancer misconduct,
  • project dissatisfaction,
  • missed opportunities,
  • or consequential damages arising from Platform use.

Unjob’s maximum liability in any dispute shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the disputed transaction.

15. Abuse Prevention

Unjob reserves the right to deny refunds, suspend accounts, or restrict Platform access where users are found to:

  • abuse refund systems,
  • repeatedly cancel projects,
  • manipulate disputes,
  • submit false claims,
  • exploit freelancers,
  • or engage in fraudulent activity.
